Full PSP Power Hindered by Wi-Fi

Sony has confirmed to GameDaily BIZ that the PlayStation Portable cannot use its full CPU power at the same time that Wi-Fi is enabled, meaning that games with network gameplay cannot tap into the full 333MHz clock speed.

Nintendo DS Runs on Sony PSP

Japanese homebrew developer SofiyaCat has ported the Nintendo DS emulator DeSmuME to PSP. It’s extremely slow, so don’t expect it to run anything well, but it does prove DS emulation is possible on the PSP.

PSP Turns into Portable Television

As part of a flurry of announcements from today’s PlayStation Premiere event in Tokyo, Sony Japan announced a 1Seg Tuner device for the PSP. Attach this to the PSP USB port in much the same way that you attach the GPS receiver and camera to the system now, and you’ll turn the system into a portable TV.
