Rumble on PSP, Sony Needs Immersion
In this interview with Immersion (The king of rumble company) CEO Vic Viegas, he said it’s not difficult to make PSP rumbling.
“The effects and strength you can get with a small motor is really amazing… you really feel the staccato of a machine gun, you really feel when you’re pressing on a piece of glass on a touch screen that you’re pressing a low profile button… This would translate quite easily to the Nintendo DS, PSP or almost any mobile device“
Movies on Memory Sticks for PSP
Sony is introducing two Memory Stick entertainment packs for the PlayStation Portable (PSP) system later this month. Each movie is optimised for playback on the Sony PlayStation 3 console at 720 x 480 resolution as well as for the PSP. Titles available include Click, Ghost Rider, RV and Stomp the Yard.

Weekly Sales 400% Increase in UK
Sony has hailed the launch of PSP Slim & Lite as a success, a Sony spokesperson told MCV. “The first week sales have come in at 17,000, so around a four-fold increase on the previous week.”

PSP Sales Rocket in Japan
Sales of the PlayStation Portable have increased by over six times on the previous week’s figure, 95,487 units in the week ending September 16, up from 15,564 the week before. One of the reasons for the PSP’s sudden jump in popularity could be the release of Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII on that format - the title sold 487,000 copies in its debut week.

PSP-2000 Bundled with Final Fantasy VII: Crisis Core
Square Enix and Sony teamed up for a limited edition PSP-2000 bundle to accompany the 9/13 Japanese release of Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII. This is exactly one week before the PSP slim sees full release. This bundle was produced in limited quantities of just 77,777.

At long last, a UMDless PSP
Now that we know for certain that the PSP slim and lite will retain the UMD drive, we were somewhat baffled and a little amused by finding a collection of PSP’s in Sony’s Heavenly Sword booth at the Leipzig GC that were UMDless.
